This track was written as a single at a time when the band was less active. I was particularly discouraged with where I thought my life was headed and I was flirting with a possible career change. The lyrics perfectly capture my emotions at the time, and I even had a lyric video made to stress that fact. There was also an obvious effort on my part to keep the song short, poppy, catchy and melodic. I had hoped it might speak to the plight of the independent musician in a way that other folks could appreciate on a deeper level. Hopefully, it does.
